Williams has outlined the first arcs on his forthcoming Batwoman solo series.

Best known as an artist, Williams will be co-writing and illustrating the first arc of Batwoman following writer Greg Rucka’s departure from the title.

“The stories are going to be quite varied, even though they all will have interconnecting threads that carry the series through, because we ultimately have a much bigger story to tell,” Williams said

“But the bigger story can kind of be broken down into arcs within the greater arc, and each of those individual arcs have their own unique flavour.

“The first arc is very much a horror story, and then the second is an espionage/intrigue sort of thing, and after that sort of a fantasy epic for the third, and initial plans for the fourth are more along the lines of a family drama.”

Williams illustrated last year’s celebrated Batwoman-starring Detective Comics run along Rucka.

He said that he would not be using the new title to conclude the unfinished narrative that was originally meant to conclude during the previous run.

“I just felt like I didn’t really want to tell that story without Greg,” he said.

The title will be co-written by W. Haden Blackman.

Director Jack Buser hit back against scepticism for the project and insisted that it has done well for the platform holder.

“Home is new. We’re doing a lot of really new stuff that I think the industry is still wrapping its head around,” he said.

“We’re seeing a lot of innovation in the space, and some of us have hit success. The proof is in the pudding. With numbers like we have, it goes without saying that Home has been a huge success for our company, something that we have been very proud of.”

Buser explained that the average user session is 70 minutes, with 85% of users returning back to the service more than once, and has currently clocked over 14 million users worldwide.

It was added that the micro-transaction business model is “quite profitable” for the service.

PlayStation Home entered open beta in late 2008 and is free to download for all PlayStation 3 owners.

Best known for his work on Young Avengersand television shows including Sex And The City, Grey’s Anatomy and The O.C., Heinberg will be providing the back-up feature with Siege artist Olivier Coipel.

“When editor Nick Lowe asked if I’d be interested in coming up with this story, I actually had some time to devote exclusively to writing comics,” Heinberg said.

“I am a big X-Men fan. In fact, I was briefly Chris Claremont’s assistant back in the early ’90s. He was very patient with my fanboy questions and generous with his time.

“If the X-Office will have me, I’d love to write more X-Men stories.”

The story addresses the effects of the ‘Second Coming’ storyline’s conclusion on the Young Avengers and Scarlet Witch, leading into Heinberg’s forthcoming Avengers: The Children’s Crusade miniseries.

The story was added after the solicitation for the issue had been released.

Illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu, the creator-owned venture centres on a 13-year-old boy with Multiple Sclerosis who transforms into an “an adult overpowered” hero.

The Kick Ass scribe released concept artwork for the book in a special issue of Wizard magazine, which he guest edited. The illustrations depicted a Superman-like hero and his mechanoid nemesis Abraxas, who is described as “Darkseid meets Brainiac meets Darth Vader”.

Millar said: “Superior in a lot of ways is the project I’ve wanted to write my entire life. It’s everything I love about those big bombastic kind of Superman/Captain Marvel heroes.”

“We are hearing great feedback from retailers that the new Xbox 360 250GB is experiencing unprecedented demand,” read a statement according to VG247.

“Consumers are eager to experience this new console, completely redesigned for the future of entertainment: sleeker, smaller, and whisper-quiet.

“Strong demand for the new Xbox 360 250GB combined with a $50 price reduction in the US on the Xbox 360 Arcade and Elite consoles, now $149.99 and $249.99 respectively, has resulted in a significant sales spike for Xbox 360 since the new console hit shelves on or around June 14.”

The system outsold the PlayStation 3 by 194,600 units to 154,500, but failed to better either the Wii or DS, with sales of 334,800 and 383,700 respectively.

Quantic Dream president David Cage said that it is “unfortunate” Sony opted for a Move version of the title instead of continuing the Chronicles DLC.

“Chronicles are on hold as all the team is focused on Heavy Rain Move,” he told Nowgamer.

“We proposed three episodes about one hour long and focused on the background of the main characters. I thought fans would really enjoy these episodes because they explained many aspects of Heavy Rain and why characters are who they are. Unfortunately, Sony preferred to ask us to focus on Move to support the device rather than on creating new content.”

Cage added that he can understand the decision, but that it is a disappointing one for those who wanted more content.

“On our side, we did not want to spend more time on Heavy Rain, which would have meant delaying new projects.

“This is a decision I can understand, and I am certainly happy we had the opportunity to play with this device and to support it, although I am certainly disappointed for fans we could not finish the story of Heavy Rain the way we intended.”

The Move version of the PlayStation 3 exclusive will be released by the end of the year. Existing versions will be patched to offer the same motion-sensing capabilities.
